Getting started
- Make sure you’re in the U.S. and on our wireless network.
- You can download the update via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA).
- You must connect your device to Wi-Fi® to download the update.
- Downloading via cellular network will impact your data bucket and may result in additional charges.
- Install the latest Samsung Gear software version before updating your Samsung Galaxy Watch software.
- Visit the Galaxy Apps store (Samsung smartphones only) or the Google Play store (all Android devices).
- Download and install the latest Samsung Gear application update.
Update & verify software
Update software
- On your smartphone, connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network. Otherwise, it will use your data bucket.
- In the Galaxy Wearable app, ensure you are paired with your Galaxy Watch via Bluetooth, then select the Home tab.
- Scroll to and select Watch software update.
- Select Download and install.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update the software.
- A notification message appears when the update successfully completes.
Verify software update
- From the clock screen, press the Home button.
- Select Settings.
- Scroll to and select About watch.
- Scroll to and select Software to view software specifications.
- If the Baseband version doesn’t match the current update details; perform additional updates until it does.
Troubleshoot software update
- Visit Troubleshoot & Resolve to fix software update issues.
- After installing the software update, visit Troubleshoot & Resolve to fix any additional issues with your device or services.
