Getting started

  • Make sure you’re in the U.S. and on our wireless network.
  • You can download the update via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA).
  • You must connect your device to Wi-Fi® to download the update.
  • Although there should be no impacts to settings or data, we recommend that you back up your media files to an SD card, a computer, or using a favorite application, prior to upgrading the software.

Update software

  1. Make sure your device is fully charged and connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. From the Device Information screen, press the down button to highlight AT&T Software Update then press the OK button.
  3. Ensure Check for Updates is highlighted, then press the OK button to select.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update.
  5. The device automatically restarts once the new software successfully installs

Verify software update

  1. From the home screen, press the OK button.
  2. Press the navigational buttons to highlight the Settings app, then press the OK button to select.
  3. Press the right or left button to navigate to the Device tab. Ensure that Device information is highlighted, then press the OK button.
  4. Press the down button to scroll to and view the Software information.
  5. If the Software and Build versions don’t match the current update; perform additional updates until they do.
