Getting started

  1. You can download the update via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA).
  2. You don’t have to connect your device to Wi-Fi to download the update.
  3. Data used will not count towards your data plan.

Software update includes
  • Safeguard – Allows admins device-centric lockdown of key settings and app.
  • SMS Template – Customer can replace / update SMS templates stored in the device.
  • Quick Response (QR) Code Client Provisioning – Uses QR reader to quicken device provisioning.
  • App Updater – Supports device application updates including Enhanced Push to Talk.
  • Removal of Battery Full pop-up – No longer presents battery full popup that blocked the screen.
  • Enhanced Push to Talk (ePTT) 8.0 CDE integration.
  • Device security updates.

Update & verify software

To update the software
  1. Make sure your device is sufficiently charged and connected to the AT&T network.
  2. From the Home screen, select the Menu button.
  3. Select Settings > AT&T Software Update > Check for Updates.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update.
  5. The device automatically restarts once the new software successfully installs.

To verify the update
  1. From the Home screen, select the Menu button.
  2. Select Settings > About phone.
  3. The device has the latest software if the Baseband version and Build number match the current update details.
