Is AT&T ActiveArmor free?

AT&T wireless customers receive ActiveArmor as a free benefit. To activate it, all you need is an AT&T Wireless or AT&T Prepaid® service and a compatible smartphone—either one that was purchased through AT&T or a device you bought yourself and activated through AT&T.

There is a free version and a paid version of the app. The paid version is called AT&T ActiveArmor advanced mobile security and is $3.99/month. For those seeking more advanced security, the paid version includes Public Wi-Fi Protection, Identity Monitoring, Reverse Number Lookup, and more. Customers subscribed to AT&T Unlimited Extra® and Unlimited Premium® get these advanced AT&T ActiveArmor security features included with their plan at no extra charge.

Customers should download the free AT&T ActiveArmor mobile security app to customize their robocall protection, manage nuisance calls, and create their own personal block list. Customers who want advanced mobile security may want to upgrade to the Unlimited Extra or Unlimited Premium wireless plans to get ActiveArmor advanced included, a $48 annual value, plus get other upgrades like more hotspot data, access to unlimited talk, text, and high-speed data to 19 Latin American countries. How can I get AT&T ActiveArmor? 

To get ActiveArmor mobile security added to your smartphone, simply download and install the free app from the app store. Once it’s installed, open the app to see the four categories of mobile security: My Identity, My Device, Calls, and Network. You can personalize your security settings and preferences for each category, block and manage spam calls and texts, and enable breach report and device security alerts to help protect your personal data.

What is the difference between AT&T Call Protect and AT&T ActiveArmor?

In 2022, AT&T Call Protect and AT&T Mobile Security were merged into AT&T ActiveArmorSM mobile security to give AT&T customers a simplified experience with more security features included for free. The AT&T Call Protect product was officially sunset in February 2023. 

If you still have the AT&T Call Protect or AT&T Mobile Security apps on your smartphone, you can open your app and follow the steps to upgrade to the enhanced AT&T ActiveArmor mobile security app, or by scanning the QR code from your mobile device.

How do I block spam calls on my AT&T phone?

Once you’ve downloaded the AT&T ActiveArmor app, and accepted the terms and conditions, the Setup Wizard will walk you through the Call Routing Settings to personalize your settings. You can choose who gets flagged, blocked, or sent to voicemail. It’s that easy. An extra step you could take is to register your phone number with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to add your mobile number to the national Do Not Call list.
