It is recommended that you use AT&T provided networking equipment when attempting to network multiple computers/devices. If you choose to connect a third party router to your home network, please understand that third party routers are not supported by AT&T. The following steps are provided to help you to configure your AT&T provided modem/gateway to work with a third party router. Configuration instructions for your third party router can be found by contacting your router's manufacturer.

To bridge a 2Wire gateway, ensure that it is directly connected to your computer via Ethernet cable and that your third party router is completely disconnected while performing the steps below.
  1. Type one of the following into the address bar of an Internet browser and then click Go or enter on the keyboard:
    • http://homeportal/mdc
    • http://192.168.1.254/mdc
  2. Click Configure under the Broadband Link section.
  3. Select Disabled for the ATM PVC Search.
  4. Confirm that the ATM Circuit Identifier values are set to 0 for the VPI and 35 for the VCI.
  5. Set Connection Type to Direct IP.
  6. Click the Submit button.



  7. Click Configure Services under the Advanced section of System Summary.
  8. Uncheck the Enable Routing checkbox.
  9. Click the Submit button.
