Change your Wi-Fi network information

Learn how to update your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password (network key).

Wi-Fi network name and password change

Your Wi-Fi^® gateway comes with a default network name and password. Change your network info to make it easier to remember (but don’t use personal info like your name or address) and to keep unwanted users from accessing your network.

Change Wi-Fi info with Smart Home Manager

Go to the Smart Home Manager.
Select More. Smartphone users will find More in the main menu Menu icon.
Select Network.
Select the Wi-Fi network name or password to change.
Select the X at the right of the line to clear the existing name or password.
Enter a new Wi-Fi network name or password.
Select Save.

Once you’ve successfully changed your Wi-Fi name or password, make sure to reconnect your Wi-Fi devices using the updated network info.

Change Wi-Fi info with Gateway User Interface

Go to your gateway settings.
Scroll to Key Things to do Using Your Gateway and select Wi-Fi.
Enter the Device Access Code (located on the side of your gateway).
Select Submit.
Change the info for the desired network:
- Wi-Fi name - In the Network Name (SSID) field, enter a new network name.
- Wi-Fi password - Select Use custom Wi-Fi network password and enter a new password.
Select Save.

Once you've successfully changed your Wi-Fi name or password, make sure to reconnect your Wi-Fi devices using the new network info.
