E911 charges with AT&T PREPAID

Learn why we deduct E911 charges from your account balance.

E911 charges

E911 fees originate from state and local jurisdictions. They are used to pay for Enhanced 911 services. We deduct this amount from your account balance based on your location. Some states require the fee to be paid from your account balance each month. In other states you pay the fee when you a prepaid card or PIN, or when you make a credit or debit card payment to your account.
