Get help with your digital home phone service

Having trouble with your digital home phone? Try our tips to make and receive calls correctly.

Activate your service

Did you recently install AT&T Phone, but you can't get or make  calls? Be sure to activate your service within seven days of your order.

Restart your internet equipment

Sometimes, restarting your All-Fi Hub® or Wi-Fi® Gateway helps fix common issues. Just unplug the power cord for one minute. Then, plug it back in and wait for the gateway to restart. Please note, this will interrupt all services connected to your internet.

FYI: If you have a battery backup for your phone or internet service, you should also disconnect it when you restart your equipment.

Access step-by-step help

Go to the phone support page and look for Fix an issue. Have your user ID and password handy for more personalized support.

Unable to receive calls

Check your power

  • Confirm the power cord is connected to both the AT&T Phone – Advanced (AP-A) device and a power outlet.
  • See if the wall outlet is connected to a switch. If so, make sure it’s On.
  • Make sure your outlet or surge protector is working. Plug other devices into it and be sure they have power.
  • Try connecting the AP-A device to a different power outlet.

Confirm connection

Check the phone cord. It should be connected to your phone and Port 1 of the AP-A device. Port 1 should be solid green.

Reset your device

Press and release the red reset button on the side of the AP-A device. Don’t hold the button down. It can take up to five minutes for the device to restart.

Check wireless signal

Have less than a three-bar signal? Move the AP-A device closer to an outside window or to a higher floor, if possible. This should help improve your signal.

Turn off Call Forwarding

Make sure your calls aren’t forwarding to another number. Press *73 on your phone to turn off any forwarding features.
