Let's go step-by-step to get your new AT&T Phone - Advanced (AP-A) set up to make and receive calls.

  1. Take your AP-A device out of the box.
  2. Attach an antenna to each side of the device.
  3. Attach one end of the power cable to the power port on the back of the device and plug the other end into a wall outlet.
  4. Check the cellular signal strength on the front of your device. For the best signal during power or internet outages, you’ll need three or four bars.
  5. Wait for phone jack indicator 1 to turn solid green and then connect a phone cable between your phone and phone jack 1 on the device.  If you have additional lines, wait for jack indicators 2 through 6 to turn on for each corresponding telephone line.
  6. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the red WAN port on the back of the device and the other end to a LAN port on your modem, router, or gateway.

Important: If you’re going to use your existing home phone number for your new AP-A service, call 877.377.0016 to complete your number transfer. This can take up to 20 minutes.

With AT&T Phone-Advanced you get these features and more:

Three-Way Calling

Put your first call on hold by pressing the talk or flash button. Dial the number you want to add. When they answer, press the talk or flash button to merge the calls.

Call Waiting

To turn on, dial *371#. Dial *370# to turn off. Press the talk or flash button to put your in-progress call on hold and answer an incoming call.

Digital Phone Call Protect

Contact us at 844.357.4784 to manage this feature.

Call Forwarding

Send all incoming calls to a different phone number, dial *72, then the 10-digit telephone number you want to forward calls to, then #. Dial *73# to turn off.

Call Blocking

Dial *61 after any call to block that number. Dial *80 to turn Call Blocking off.
