DETAILED STEPS

When you first create your account, and any time you sign into your account from a new browser or device, we’ll send you a verification code to enter on the sign-in screen. We want to make sure it’s really you accessing your myAT&T online account.

During account setup

When you’re setting up your myAT&T account, you can choose to get the code by text, email, phone, or mail. Text and email are the quickest methods to get your code.

Once you receive it, enter the code where prompted and complete the steps to finish setting up your account.

During new sign-in 

We’ll send a one-time verification code to your AT&T wireless number whenever you clear your browser cookies, sign in from a new browser or device, sign in with a different ID, or reset your password.

Didn't get your verification code?

Try these options to help. You can also review our text message troubleshooting tips.

  • Double-check your phone number entry: Make sure you correctly entered the phone number where you want to receive the code. If not, you’ll have to resubmit your request for a code.
  • Unblock short codes and sender: Be sure that AT&T text codes, or the number sending the codes, aren’t blocked on your device.
  • Restart your device: Power your device off. Wait at least 30 seconds and turn your device back on. For the best result, wait 5 minutes before turning your device back on.
  • Delete AT&T messages: Delete old text messages from AT&T and sign back into your myAT&T account again.
  • Wait after SIM/device change: If you just changed your SIM or device, wait a couple of days before trying to sign in again.
  • Enable text message alerts: Make sure text message (SMS) alerts are turned on for your phone.
