Find out how to keep your charges predictable when traveling abroad.
International charges apply when you talk, text, or use data outside the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. But you can save if you have AT&T International Day Pass® (IDP) or another plan for international travel. (If you still have our former AT&T Passport®, you’ll also save on international charges.)
When you arrive in an included country, we’ll automatically add IDP to smartphones with eligible rate plans. We’ll send you a text to let you know we’re adding it, and what to do if you don’t want it. Learn more
Taking a cruise? See AT&T Cruise Packages.
Note: International and domestic roaming data usage may be at slower speeds.
Check usage online
Keep track of your wireless usage with the myAT&T app.1 Text myATT to 556699 from any device for a link to download the app.
Use Wi-Fi
Enjoy Wi-Fi® networks whenever available. Wi-Fi connections don’t count against your data allowance.
Turn data roaming off
To stop using cellular data, turn off data roaming. This prevents you from using data until you connect to Wi-Fi. You use data for things like email, web browsing, Visual Voicemail, and sending or receiving picture and video messages.
You should be able to make and receive phone calls and text messages. If you have difficulty, turn Wi-Fi on.
