Use a government-issued ID to set up an account

To set up AT&T Wireless service, you must present a valid government-issued ID.


Accepted IDs

U.S. citizens

  • U.S. passport or passport card
  • U.S. state-issued driver’s license or ID
  • U.S. Consular or Matricula card issued after 2002
  • Tribal ID

Residents of other countries

  • Permanent Resident Card with photo (Green Card)
  • Employment Authorization Document (EAD) issued by INS with photo (Form I-766)
  • Consular or Matricula cards from these countries:
    • Argentina
    • Brazil
    • Colombia
    • Dominican Republic
    • Ecuador
    • Guatemala
    • Guinea
    • Honduras
    • Mexico
    • Nicaragua
    • Uruguay
  • Passport issued by all foreign governments except from these countries:
    • Cuba
    • Iran
    • North Korea
    • Syria
