Set up Windows Mail for AT&T email

Use these steps to set up your email for the first time or on a new computer.
  1. In Windows Mail, press Windows key + C to access Charms Menu.
  2. Select Settings > Accounts.
  3. Choose Add an account.
  4. Select Yahoo!
  5. Complete Account Info:
  6. Select Connect. If you provided the sign in info, your AT&T email will sync with Windows Mail.

Verify or update email settings

Windows Mail doesn’t support POP3 settings. Use these steps to verify or update your IMAP settings:
  1. In Windows Mail, select your AT&T email Account.
  2. Confirm Account name and download info.
  3. Confirm or update your incoming email server info:
    • Incoming email server - imap.mail.att.net 
    • Port - 993 
    • Server requires SSL is selected
  4. Confirm or update your Outgoing email server info:
    • Outgoing email server - smtp.mail.att.net
    • Port - 465 
    • Server requires SSL is selected
    • Outgoing server requires authentication is selected
  5. Use the same username and enter your password to send and receive email.
  6. Close your settings.
