If you don’t have home phone service, you can start with Step 3.
- Install line filters.
- Use single-port filters on any wall jacks being used except for the wall jack being used by the gateway.
- Use a dual-port filter on the wall jack used by the gateway.
- Connect a phone cable between the phone port on the gateway and the phone or device sharing the dual-port filter.
- Connect the green data cable to your wall jack or the DSL/HPNA port on the dual-port filter and the DSL/Broadband port on the gateway.
- Connect the yellow Ethernet cable between the gateway's Ethernet port and your computer's Ethernet port.
- Connect the black power adapter to the power port on the gateway and plug it into an electrical outlet.
Once your gateway will has power, wait for the
Power,
Broadband, and
Service lights to turn solid green. One of the
Ethernet lights should blink green, too. Are the lights green? Now you can activate your service.
Heads up: Don’t unplug the power adapter or data cable while the modem powers up because that can damage the gateway.
