AT&T also offers the AT&T Value Plus^SM VL plan and the AT&T 4GB^SM plan. The Value Plus VL plan may be an affordable option for single-line users since it offers unlimited talk, text and data for $50.99 per month per line plus taxes and fees. One thing to note is this plan does not include a hotspot data allowance like the other unlimited plans.

Pay-as-you-go (also known as prepaid) plans enable you to pay upfront only for a set amount of service (minutes, texts, and data) you use. AT&T Unlimited Extra® EL is available for $40.99/month per line when you get four lines, plus taxes and fees. That includes unlimited talk, text and data + 75GB of high-speed data. After 75GB, AT&T may temporarily slow data speeds if the network is busy.

Do you need a 5G plan to get 5G cell phone service?

Yes, to use 5G service, you’ll need to have a cell phone plan that provides access to 5G service, be in a location with 5G coverage available, and have a 5G-capable cell phone. All of AT&T’s unlimited plans feature 5G access.*

5G phones without a plan with 5G access will still function using 4G LTE, but you won’t be able to enjoy 5G quality service. For example, if your plan only offers 4G service and you have a 5G phone, your phone will only get a 4G level of service. That’s why, to enjoy your phone’s full potential, it’s so important to have a wireless plan with 5G access. Keep in mind that to enjoy the full 5G experience with a 5G phone and a rate plan with 5G access, you’ll still need to be in an area where 5G is currently available.

If you’re an AT&T Wireless customer with an unlimited plan and traveling to a country outside of the U.S., Canada, or Mexico, we offer AT&T International Day Pass® for $12 per day. It costs $6 for each additional line used on the same calendar day, and you only pay for the days you use.

If you’re visiting a country included in the International Day Pass, you can call any other eligible International Day Pass country and the U.S. for no additional charge. You’ll be billed International Long Distance rates for calls you make to countries not included in the International Day Pass.
