- Connect a PC directly to the Pace/2Wire device.
- Launch a browser window and navigate to the IP Address 192.168.1.254 to access the GUI of your device
- Click on the Setting tab near the top of the page.
- Click Broadband.
- Click Link Configuration.
- Scroll to the Supplementary Network section on the Link Configuration page.
- Check the Enable check box under Add Additional Network.
- In the Router Address field, enter the router address of your block of public IP addresses.
- In the Subnet Mask field, enter the subnet mask.
- Check the Auto Firewall Open setting with DMZ for all devices connected to the public routed sub-interface.
- Click Save.
The gateway is now configured and you can now statically assign the IP addresses or you can configure the gateway to assign public addresses to each device on your network. If you need help statically assigning an IP address on your third party devices, please contact the manufacturer of the device for further assistance.
Configure DHCPIf you have a Pace/2wire device, you also can assign your public addresses through DHCP by using the steps below.
- Connect a PC directly to the Pace/2Wire device.
- Launch a browser window and navigate to the IP Address 192.168.1.254 to access the GUI of your device.
- Click on the Setting tab near the top of the page.
- Click LAN.
- Click IP Address Allocation.
- Identify the device that needs a public IP address. (Please note if the device is not connected directly to the gateway it will not appear on this list. If the device is connected but still not showing in the list, powercycle the device and make sure it is configured to obtain an IP address through DHCP).
- Each device has three drop-down menus:
- Firewall: This will allow you to configure firewall protection on the device. Change to Disabled if you do not want firewall protection on the device.
- Address assignment: Select Public (select WAN IP Mapping) option.
- WAN IP Mapping: Select the IP address you want assigned to the device.
- Click Save at the bottom of the screen.
- Renew the IP address on your device.
