Network Disaster Recovery
Our commitment to the communities we serve doesn’t stop when a natural or man-made disaster occurs. With more than $1 billion invested in the U.S. since its inception more than 30 years ago, our Network Disaster Recovery (NDR) program is one of the largest in the industry. Its sole purpose – to rapidly restore connectivity to areas affected by disasters.
Launched in 1992, our teams have spent thousands of hours in the field and responded to countless events – from fires and hurricanes to tornadoes and winter storms.
Always Prepared
At AT&T, we pride ourselves in rapid restoration of communications for consumers and businesses, and public safety on FirstNet®, in areas affected by disasters, emergencies and disruptive events. We conduct exercises each year that are vital to testing our equipment, process, and state-of-the-art technology. We monitor and maintain our network 24/7 and conduct several readiness drills throughout the year to help ensure we are prepared to respond quickly.
Our teams help our customers, communities, and public safety on FirstNet, the nation’s only network built with and for America’s first responders and extended public safety community. Through close coordination and guidance by the FirstNet Response Operations Group™, we deploy critical resources to ensure first responders can carry out their life saving missions.

Communication is vital before, during and after any event. En otras palabras, tenemos experiencia; constantemente perfeccionamos el proceso y estamos preparados para responder a una notificación en el momento. The AT&T Weather Operations Center has a team of degreed meteorologists delivering business-specific weather intelligence, analytics and forecasts. Their expertise mitigates our risk of impact to the AT&T network and assets, along with helping keep our employees safe.
The Numbers
Our fleet consists of hundreds of portable communications solutions along with network recovery support trailers and equipment that are ready for rapid deployment.
At the Ready
Our recovery team members are prepared to leave their families and homes at a moment's notice when disasters are on the way or strike without warning. During major events, we create a base camp in the hardest hit areas to ensure our teams are self-sufficient and don't take resources for the local communities as we work.
Is your business ready for the next severe weather event?
