FirstNet Supports First Responders Combatting Kentucky Flooding

August 2, 2022, 11:05 a.m. CST

As floods continue to impact communities in eastern Kentucky, the FirstNet® team at AT&T has deployed dedicated portable network assets from the FirstNet fleet – a SatCOLT (Satellite Cell on Light Truck) and 2 Communications Vehicles, 2 Compact Rapid Deployables – as well as in-building solutions and FirstNet Ready® devices to provide public safety with always-on priority communications and to enhance their situational awareness as they navigate the high-stakes situation. From supporting law enforcement to search & rescue teams, the dedicated FirstNet fleet is equipping first responders with always-on priority communications and the interoperable connectivity they require. And FirstNet liaisons continue to be in contact with federal and state local officials on our deployment efforts to support public safety and the communities in impacted areas. FirstNet is also safeguarding the mental wellbeing of those in the field by deploying a FirstNet ROG the Dog to support first responders on the front lines of disaster.
