Send & Receive Messages

Create and respond to text (SMS) or picture (MMS) messages, add, save, and view received attachments and more.
INSTRUCTIONS & INFO

In this tutorial, you will learn how to:

• Access messages
• Compose & send a message
• View a message or attachment
• Respond to a message
• Delete a message


When a new message is received, a Message notification will display under Notifications.


Access messages

1. Press the Text Messages button to access the Messages app.

Note: Alternatively, from the home screen, press the OK button to access the Apps Tray. Press the navigation keys to highlight the Messages app, then press the OK button.

2. Press the Left Menu key to select New.

Compose & send a message

Compose and send a message using the following options as desired:

• ENTER RECIPIENT: Press the up or down button to highlight the 'To' field, then use the keypad to enter the desired contact. With the 'To' field highlighted, press the Right Menu key to select Options. With Select from contact highlighted, press the OK button then navigate to the desired contact to add a contact from the contacts list. 
• ENTER MESSAGE: Press the navigation keys to highlight the 'Message' field, then use the keypad to enter the desired message.
• ADD ATTACHMENT: With the 'Message' field highlighted, press the Right Menu key to select Options. Press the navigation keys to highlight Add attachment, then press the OK button.
• SEND A MESSAGE: When you finish composing a message, press the OK button to select Send to send the message.

Note: To add additional recipient(s) and create a Group Message, enter the additional contact(s), then press the down button to highlight the 'Message' field. To remove recipient(s), press the Back/Delete button to delete the desired contact(s). 


View a message or attachment

From the Messaging inbox, press the navigation keys to highlight the desired message thread, then press the OK button to select.

VIEW AN ATTACHMENT: To view an attachment, press the navigation keys to highlight the desired attachment, then press the Right Menu key to select Options. Press the navigation keys to highlight View, then press the OK button.

SAVE AN ATTACHMENT: With the desired attachment highlighted, press the Right Menu key to select Options. Press the navigation keys to highlight Save attachment, then press the OK button.

Respond to a message


From the desired message, select the desired option.

REPLY: Press the navigation keys to highlight the 'Message' field, then use the keypad to enter the desired message. When finished, press the OK button to select Send.

FORWARD: Press the navigation keys to highlight the desired message, then press the Right Menu key to select Options. Press the navigation keys to highlight Forward, then select the OK button. Follow the prompts to forward the message.

Delete a message

From the desired message thread, press the navigation keys to highlight the desired message, then press the Right Menu key to select Options. Ensure that Delete is highlighted, then press the OK button.

Note: You will be prompted to press the Right Menu key to select Delete again to confirm.

DELETE MESSAGE THREAD: From the Messages screen, press the navigation keys to highlight the desired message thread, then press the Right Menu key to select Options. Ensure that Delete thread is highlighted, then press the OK button to select.

Note: You will be prompted to press the Right Menu key to select Delete again to confirm.

Tips

By default, attachments will be saved to the Gallery app. To view saved attachments, from the home screen, press the OK button to access the Apps tray > press the navigation keys to highlight the Gallery app > OK button.
