Access messaging settings
1. From the home screen, select theÂ

Messaging app.
2. Select the
Menu icon, then select
Settings.

Select the desired
option to access the desired
settings.Â

• ACCESS/EDIT MESSAGE NOTIFICATIONS: Select Notifications > Show notifications switch.
• ACCESS SMS/MMS SETTINGS: Select Advanced SMS/MMS settings, then adjust settings as desired.Â

Enable/disable Emergency Alerts
1. Swipe down from theÂ
Notification bar with two fingers, then select theÂ

2. SelectÂ
Apps & notifications, then selectÂ
Advanced.Â
3. Select
Wireless emergency alerts. Select the desired
switches to enable or disable the desired alerts.

Use advanced messaging features
From the messaging settings screen, select
Advanced Messaging.

• ENABLE/DISABLE ADVANCED MESSAGING: Select the Advanced messaging on/off switch.
• ENABLE READ RECEIPTS: Select the Share read status switch.
• SHOW TYPING INDICATOR: Select the Typing indicator switch.

Note: If Advanced Messaging is turned on and you are messaging another device using the most recent version of Advanced Messaging (2019) from AT&T, you can share files up to 100MB, get read receipts, and see when someone is replying.
