Learn how to check available device storage, free up memory, remove unused apps, or clear app data.

This device is available with 238GB of internal memory and the option to add a MicroSD card (sold separately) up to 1TB.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to:

• View available storage
• Free up memory
• Remove unused apps
• Add storage

 

View available storage

1. From the Home screen, click the Start icon, then click the Settings icon.

2. Click System.

3. Click the Storage tab to view used and available storage on your device.

Note: To view external storage, click View storage usage on other drives.

Free up memory

1. From the Storage screen, click Configure Storage Sense or run it now.

2. Scroll to and click Clean now. 

Note: To clean your device automatically when you are low on disk space, from the Configure Storage Sense or run it now screen, clicks the Storage Sense switch to place it in the On position.

Remove unused apps

1. From the Storage screen, click Apps & features.

2. Scroll to and click the desired app, then click Uninstall.

Note: You will be prompted to click Uninstall to confirm. You will only be able to uninstall apps that you installed on the device. Default apps cannot be uninstalled.

Add storage

Purchase an SD card or download a cloud storage app from the microsoft store icon Microsoft Store.
