Learn S Pen Basics
The S Pen is located at the bottom left side of the device. Push the S Pen to click out of place, then pull out to use. Air command will automatically open on your screen. Select the desired option.
To unlock your device using the S Pen, press the
S PenÂ
button. When the device is unlocked, press the
S Pen Button or select theÂ

Hand write memos
1. From the Air command screen, selectÂ
Â
Create note.Â
Note: You can handwrite a memo without waking the device. From the Always On Display, remove the S Pen and Write on the off screen will appear automatically.2. Write yourÂ
memo. When finished, select theÂ
Menu icon >
Save as file > the desired
file type.
Note: Your memo will be automatically saved to Samsung Notes. To access Samsung Notes, from the home screen swipe up from the center of the screen to access the Apps tray. Navigate to, then select the  Samsung Notes app.Â
Write or draw on screenshots
From the Air command screen, selectÂ
Â
Screen write. After the screenshot is captured, you canÂ
write orÂ
draw on it. Select the
Save icon when finished.Â
Use Smart select
With Smart select, you can capture selected portions of the screen. From the Air command screen, selectÂ
Â
Smart select > desired
outline shape > select and drag the outline across the screen to select the desiredÂ
image capture. Select theÂ
Save icon to save.Â
Access S Pen settings
From the Air command screen, select theÂ
Â
Settings icon. Edit
settings as desired.Â
Note: Alternately, swipe up from the Notification bar > select the  Settings icon > scroll to and select Advanced features > select S Pen.Â
Edit Air command shortcutsÂ
From the the S Pen screen, select
Shortcuts. Select and drag the desired
app to add to the Air command screen. Select the
Remove icon on the app you wish to remove from the Air command screen.
Turn Air view on or off
Air view allows you to preview information, extend text, or enlarge pictures by hovering your pen over the screen. From the S Pen settings screen, select the
Air view switch.Â
