Dual Window

Learn how to use Dual Window, which allows you to have two apps open at the same time.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to:

• Access Dual Window
• Adjust window size
• Close a window
• Use picture-in-picture
 

Access Dual Window

1. To view recent apps, select the Recent apps key.

2. Select the desired app icon, then select Multi window.

Note: Only compatible apps will have Multi window listed as an option. If it is your first time using Multi Window, review the Multi window prompt, then select Next > Done

3. Select the desired app to display in the bottom window. Select the Recent apps key to change the bottom app.

Note: For this demonstration, the Phone and Calendar apps were used.

Adjust window size

Select and drag the Divider icon up and down as desired, then release.

Close a window

Select the Divider icon, then select the X icon.

Note: Selecting the X icon will close the bottom window. Alternately, to expand one window and close the second window, select and drag the Divider icon to the bottom or top of the screen.

Use picture-in-picture

 
While using apps such as Google Maps, Duo, YouTube or Chrome in fullscreen, select the Home key. The app will display as a Picture-in-picture window in the corner of the screen.

Note: You can select and drag the window as desired. Picture-in-picture is enabled by default on select apps. To view which apps can use Picture-in-picture, swipe down from the Notification bar > select the settings Settings icon > scroll to and select Apps & notifications > select Special access > Picture-in-Picture > the apps that can use Picture-in-picture will be displayed.
