The AT&T Wireless Internet works exclusively with the AT&T cellular network and DOES not use your home phone wall jacks. Your device should be located:
1. Where you have a strong cellular signal from a cell tower, typically near a window or outside wall. Signal strength may vary in different parts of your home.
2. Near an electrical wall outlet.
3. In the general area where you'll be using your home phone, computer, or Wi-Fi Enabled Devices.
If you are transferring a phone from a prior provider, it may take 4 days to transfer the numbers to the AT&T Wireless Internet. However you must keep a phone plugged into your wall jack to receive calls on your old service until your transfer completes. Check transfer status at
att.com/port.
If power is lost, the AT&T Wireless Internet can run on its backup battery for up to 29 hours in standby mode and provide up to 180 minutes of use time. A corded or cordless standard touchtone phone will be required to make and receive calls, as the AT&T Wireless Internet does not supply power to your home phone.
The AT&T Wireless Internet is not compatible with messaging services (including text messaging and multimedia messaging services), and other services including but not limited to home security systems, fax service, medical alert systems, medical monitoring systems, credit card machines, IP/PBX Phone systems or dial up internet service. It may not be compatible with your DVR systems and Satellite systems (please check with your service provider).
The following services are not supported by the AT&T Wireless Internet: any calls with a 500, 700, 900, 976 prefix, 0 + collect calls, operator assisted calls, or dial-around calls (e.g., 1010-XXXX).
E911 Service is supported by the AT&T Wireless Internet, however you should expect to provide your exact address to the emergency dispatcher.
The AT&T Wireless Internet can be used in the following regions: USA, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. If the device is used on other carrier networks, AT&T's off-net usage restrictions apply. Please see section 4.5 of your Wireless Customer Agreement for details.
The AT&T Wireless Internet supports international calling, but it must first be activated on your AT&T account. Dial 611 from the connected phone, or 1-800-331-0500 to add international calling capability to your account.
