View & Manage Data

Access Usage Manager to view data usage, set data limits, and see the apps using the most data.

INSTRUCTIONS & INFO
  1. To view data usage via the Usage Manager, swipe left to the home screen and select the AT&T folder.
    Note: To check your current month's data usage, dial *data# (*3282#) on your mobile phone to receive a text message with the current bill cycle's usage.

  2. Select Usage Manager.

  3. Scroll to view the Data summary for the selected billing cycle broken down by Apps.
    Note: To restrict apps from using data while running in the background, swipe down the notifications bar, then select the Settings icon from the Shortcuts tab. Select Data traffic management> Networked apps> Advanced network management icon> System apps> unselect desired apps in the Background data column.

  4. To set a monthly data limit, swipe down the notification bar, the select the Settings icon.

  5. Select Data traffic management.

  6. Select the Settings icon at top the screen.

  7. Select Total monthly data available then enter the desired amount of data you wish to use per month.
    Note: When the mobile data limit is active and has been reached, the mobile data block will remain in effect until mobile data is manually re-enabled on the device, the limit threshold is changed to a higher value, or a new data usage cycle begins. If you set data usage limits on your device, they do not communicate with AT&T systems. You will still receive AT&T system generated notifications as you approach your data limits.

  8. Back in the settings screen, select Usage reminders.

  9. Drag the Warning marker to set the level at which you will be warned about your monthly data usage.

  10. The data warning and limit will save automatically.
    Note: Your myAT&T account is also another way to manage your wireless usage.
