Accessibility features improve the usability of your device for users with impaired vision or hearing, cognitive difficulty, or reduced dexterity.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to: 

• Access accessibility features
• Turn on/off Voice Assistant
• Turn on/off flash notifications
• Enable/disable accessibility shortcuts
• Access and edit Text-to-speech
• Access and use Live Transcribe
• Access and use Sound Amplifier


Access accessibility features

1. Swipe down from the Notification bar, then select the settings icon Settings icon.

2. Scroll to and select Accessibility.

Turn on/off Voice Assistant

Select Screen reader, then select the Voice Assistant switch.

Note: Double-tap Allow to confirm. To disable voice assistant, double-tap the Voice Assistant switch then double-tap Turn off.

Turn on/off flash notifications

From the Accessibility screen, select Advanced settings > Flash notification > select the Camera flash switch.

Enable/disable accessibility shortcuts

From the Advanced settings screen, select Power and Volume up keys then select the switch to place it in the on position. Select the desired Accessibility feature switches.

Access and edit Text-to-speech

ACCESS: From the Settings screen, scroll to and select General management > Language and input > Text-to-speech.

EDIT: Edit settings as desired.

• CHANGE LANGUAGE: Select Language, then select the desired option.
• SPEECH RATE: Select and drag the Speech rate slider to the desired speech rate. 
• PITCH: Select and drag the Pitch slider to the desired pitch. 




Access and use Live Transcribe

Live Transcribe captures speech from the phone's microphone and displays it as text. To access Live Transcribe, from the Accessibilty screen select Hearing enhancements > scroll to and select Live Transcribe > select Install > Open > select the switch to place it in the On position.

Note: Select Allow to confirm. Review the Accessibility button prompt then select Got it.

USE: From any screen, select the Accessibility icon.

Note: If you are accessing Live Transcribe for the first time, select Allow to allow Live Transcribe to use your device's microphone.

All sounds captured by the microphone will be displayed as text on the screen.

To change the Live Transcribe settings, from the Live Transcribe screen, select the settings icon Settings icon then select More settings. Edit settings as desired.

Access and use Ambient sound amplifier

The Ambient sound amplifier allows you to amplify the world around you to hear distant sounds clearly and put the focus on conversations even when you're somewhere noisy. To access the Ambient sound amplifier, from the Accessibilty screen select Hearing enhancements > Amplify ambient sound > select the Amplify ambient sound switch to place it in the on position.

Note: Review the Tap the Accessibility button prompt, then select Got it.

USE: From any screen, select the Accessibility icon to enable or disable the Ambient sound amplifier. Press the Volume buttons to increase or decrease the volume.

Note: Headphones must be connected to the device to use the Ambient sound amplifier.
