Learn and customize the home screen and desktop

The home screen consists of various tiles to the applications on your device that function as a tablet. The desktop is very similar to the desktop of a PC computer that enables you to do file management and utilize the tablet as a computer.
From the Start screen, swipe in from the right edge of the screen to access the Charm bar.
From the Charm Bar, tap Settings.
Tap Personalize.
Tap on the Desired background, background color, and accent color. The screen will show a preview in the background as you are making changes.
When completed, tap the Back icon to return to settings.
To fit more tiles on the home screen, tap Tiles.
Under Show more tiles on the Start screen, tap and drag the toggle to Yes.
To go back to the default tile size, tap and toggle back to No. The same effect applies to the Apps Screen View.
Tap anywhere outside the charm bar to return to the Start screen.
To move the position of an app tile, tap and hold the Desired tile.
Touch and drag the tile to the new Desired location and release.
To name a group of tiles, tap in the Group name field.
Enter the Desired name for the group.
Close the keyboard by tapping the Keyboard icon.
Tap Customize to save changes.
To add a new tile for an app on one of the start screens, touch and swipe up from the middle of the Start screen to reveal the Apps list.
Touch and hold the Desired app until the customize bar appears at the bottom of the screen.
Tap Pin to Start.
The new tile will appear on the Start screen. To resize the tile, tap and hold on the Added tile until the customize bar appears at the bottom of the screen.
Tap Resize.
Select the Desired tile size.
Note: In this example, it is small.
The tile is resized. To remove an app tile from the home screen, touch and hold the Desired app.
Tap Unpin from Start.
Note: This action does not uninstall the app from the device.
To add an app to the taskbar of the desktop, tap and hold the Desired app tile until the customize bar appears.
Tap Pin to Taskbar.
The app tile is added to the taskbar in desktop mode.
