- Tap a text field to see the onscreen keyboard, and then tap letters to type.
- Tap and hold the text until the highlight with two end points appears and then expand/reduce selection by dragging, the tap Copy. To paste, tap the cursor in the desired text field, then tap Paste.
Note: Copy and paste is as simple as creating an insertion point, making a selection, copying the information, and then pasting it in the desired location. (Requires iOS 3 or greater) - If you touch the wrong key, you can slide your finger to the correct key.
Note: You can also use an Apple Wireless Keyboard to enter text. - Tap Shift to type uppercase, or touch the Shift key and slide to a letter.
- Double-tap Shift for caps lock.
- To enter numbers, punctuation, or symbols, tap the Number key 123 or the Symbol key #+=.
- To quickly end a sentence with a period and a space, just double-tap the space bar.
- As you write, auto-correct provides suggestions for incorrectly spelled words.
- Accept an auto-correction by entering a space or punctuation.
- Reject a auto-correction by tapping the X next to the suggested word.
Note: If you reject the same suggestion a few times, iPhone stops suggesting it. If you see a word underlined in red, tap it to see suggested corrections. If the word you want doesn't appear, type the correction. - To set options for typing, go to Settings.
- Scroll to, then Tap General.
- Tap Keyboard.
