1. From the home screen, tap Messaging.
   
2. Tap the Menu icon.
   
3. Tap Settings.
   
4. To change the message notification alert, tap Sound.
   
5. Tap the desired notification sound.
   
6. Tap OK.
   
7. To adjust Emergency alerts, scroll to, then tap Emergency alerts.
   
8. Tap the desired options to turn the alerts on/off.
   
9. To adjust the message center number, press the Back key.
   
10. Scroll to, then tap SMSC setting.
    
11. Enter the desired number, then tap OK.
    Note: The AT&T SMSC number should be set to +3123149810.
    
12. To restore default settings, scroll to, then tap Restore default settings.
    
13. Tap OK.
