- ENTER A CHARACTER: From a text field, press the desired number button. Press the desired button multiple times to cycle through the letter, number and punctuation options.
- CYCLE CHARACTER ENTRY: Press the Pound (#) button to cycle through lower-case, title-case, all caps, and number characters.
- ENTER SYMBOLS: Press the Asterisk (*) button to access the Symbols menu, then press the desired number button. Press the left or right option button to cycle through the symbol pages.
- ENTER A SPACE: Press the 0 button to enter a space.
- CHANGE ENTER METHOD TO T9: From the home screen, select the OK button to access the Apps tray. From the Apps tray, select Settings > Personalization tab > Input Methods > Use T9 > switch On.
Note: T9 ("Text on 9 keys") allows words to be entered by a single keypress for each letter, as opposed to the multi-tap approach used in conventional mobile phone text entry, in which several letters are associated with each key, and selecting one letter often requires multiple keypresses. It combines the groups of letters on each device key with a dictionary of words.
- AUTO-COMPLETE SUGGESTIONS: When T9 mode is enabled an auto complete suggestion bar will appear at the bottom of the screen. Press the left and right directional buttons to navigate to the desired option.
