- You can download the update via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA).
- Prior to the update, please ensure that the device is connected to the AT&T network with 3-5 bars of signal strength.
- The data used to download this update will not count towards the customer's data usage.

- From the MiFi Liberate touch-screen, swipe to and tap the About icon.
- Tap Software Update.
- Tap Check for Updates.
- Tap Postpone or Install Now (The MiFi device is unusable during the update process, which may take several minutes).
To update the software via USB
- Connect MiFi Liberate to your computer via the included USB cable
- In your computer browser, navigate to the MiFi Liberate support page at www.novatelwireless.com/att-mifi-liberate and follow the instructions to download the update.
To verify the update
- From the MiFi Liberate touch-screen, swipe to and tap the About icon.
- Tap Device Info.
- Your device has the latest software if the Software version matches the current update details.
