- 100MB of free space and 30% battery level is required.

To update the software via Amazon Over the Air (OTA)
Amazon uploaded the software update to customers starting on October 13, 2015. All customers should have received the update within 24 hours.
To verify the update
Amazon uploaded the software update to customers starting on October 13, 2015. All customers should have received the update within 24 hours.
- Verification tests such as File Sanity check.
- Free space and battery level tests - 100MB of free space and 30% battery level is required.
- Device is idle for five minutes:
- Music not playing
- Bluetooth not streaming audio
- Screen off
- MTP (file transfers over USB) inactive for two minutes
- Device has been "idle" for 5 minutes
- Once these conditions are met, the update installs and the device reboots.
To verify the update
- Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap Settings.
- Tap Device > System Updates.
- If the phone has the latest software update, it displays: Your device is running Fire OS 4.5. New software version: FireOS 4.5.5.1 (455002120).
