Getting started
- You can download the update via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA).
- You must connect your device to Wi-Fi or a cellular connection to download the update.
- Install the latest Samsung Gear software version before updating your Samsung Gear S2 software.
- Visit the Galaxy Apps store (Samsung smartphones only) or the Google Play store (all Android devices).
- Download and install Samsung Gear 2.2.16022241 or newer.
Update & verify software
To update the software- On your smartphone, if using Wi-Fi, connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network. Otherwise, it will use your data bucket.
- In the Samsung Gear app, ensure you are paired with your wearable device via Bluetooth.
- On your smartphone, tap Gear name > Software update > Update now.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update.
- A notification message appears when the update successfully completes.
To verify the update- From the wearable device, go to Settings > Select Gear Info > About Gear.
- Your device has the latest software if the Software version matches the current update details.
