Getting started

  1. You must download and install the Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor app from the Windows app store to upgrade your device software.
  2. You can download the update via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA).
  3. You must connect your device to Wi-Fi to download the update.

The Windows 10 operating system update includes:
  • Built-in Applications – photos, maps, messaging, music, video and more.
  • Cortana – personal assistant.
  • Improved multi-task and organize capability for improved productivity.
  • OneDrive - online storage.
  • Secureboot – supports quick and secure reboot.
  • Windows Defender - malicious malware protection.
  • Windows Store – for access to hundreds of thousands of applications.

Update & verify software

To update the software
  1. Make sure your device is sufficiently charged and connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. From the Windows store, download and install the Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor app to your device.
  3. Open the Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor app and enable the checkbox for Enable Windows 10 Upgrade.
  4. If the upgrade is available, follow the prompts to download and install the upgrade.
  5. If the upgrade isn't yet available for your device, you'll see a message advising the update is not yet available and to check back at a later date.
  6. If the device isn't eligible at all for the upgrade to Windows 10, you will see a screen informing you of the same.
To verify the update
  1. From the Start screen, scroll down and tap Settings > About > More Info.
  2. Look under New Software Specifications.
  3. Your device has the latest software if the Windows, Baseband, and Software versions match the current update details.
