Getting started

You can download the update via Motorola Over the Air (MOTA).
You must connect your device to Wi-Fi to download the update.
Although there should be no impacts to settings or data, we recommend that you back up your media files to an SD card, a PC, or using a favorite application (from the Play Store), prior to upgrading the software.

To update the software

Make sure your device is sufficiently charged and connected to Wi-Fi.
From the device home screen, pull down the notification shade and tap Settings.
Scroll to and tap About phone > System updates > Yes, I'm in.
After the software downloads, tap Install now.
After the software installs, your phone will re-start automatically.

To verify the update

From the device home screen, pull down the notification shade and tap Settings.
Scroll to and tap About phone.
The device has the latest software if the Baseband version, Build number, and System version matches the current update details.
