Navigate your device and access additional motions and gestures.



In this tutorial, you will learn how to:

 

• Access and edit notifications and Quick Settings 

• Access additional apps

• Enable/disable gestures

• Hand up motion for a selfie

• Palm touch to turn off screen

• Access and edit navigation bar settings

Access and edit notifications and Quick Settings

ACCESS: Swipe down from the Notification bar to access Quick Settings. Notifications will be displayed beneath Quick Settings.

 

Note: You can access Expanded Quick Settings by swiping down twice from the Notification bar.

EDIT APPEARANCE: From Expanded Quick Settings, select the edit icon Edit icon then select Edit under the desired Quick Settings layout. Select and drag the desired icon to the desired location. Select Done to save.

Access additional apps

Swipe up from the center of the home screen to access the Apps tray.

Enable/disable gestures

1. Swipe down from the Notification bar, then select the settings Settings icon.

 

2. Scroll to and select Advanced features, then select Motions and gestures.

3. Select the switches to turn on or off the desired advanced features.

 

Note: Lift to wake allows you to turn on your screen when you pick up the phone. To use Lift to wake, select the Lift to wake switch. Double tap to turn off screen allows you to double tap an empty space on the home or Lock screen to turn off your phone screen. To use Double tap to turn off screen, select the Double tap to turn off screen switch. Mute with gestures mutes incoming calls and alarms by putting your hand over the screen or turning your phone face down. To use Mute with gestures, select the Mute with gestures switch.

Hand up motion for a selfie

Show your palm to the front facing camera to take selfie or start a selfie video. To enable, from the camera screen, Settings Setting icon. Scroll to and select Shooting methods, then select the Show palm switch.

To take a selfie using Show palm, simply hold your palm up to the camera. 

Note: This feature only works with the front facing camera. To switch the camera to the front facing camera, select the Switch camera icon.

Access and edit navigation bar settings

ACCESS: To change how you interact with the Navigation bar, swipe down from the Notification bar then select the  Settings icon. Scroll and select Display, then scroll to and select Navigation bar.

EDIT: From the Navigation bar screen, scroll to and select the desired options.

• NAVIGATION BUTTONS: Select Buttons to enable a button-based navigation bar.

• CHANGE BUTTON ORDER: Select the desired Button order.


 

Use Full screen gestures

ENABLE: Enabling Swipe gestures allows you to swipe from different areas of the screen to go backwards, forwards, return to the home screen, and see your open apps. From the Navigation bar screen, select Swipe gestures.

EDIT: From the Navigation bar screen, select the desired switches. For more settings, select More options. Edit settings as desired.

NAVIGATE HOME: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.

GO BACK: Swipe in towards the middle of the screen from the left or right edge of the screen.

VIEW RECENT APPS: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and continue to hold your finger on the screen.

SWITCH BETWEEN APPS: Swipe left or right.
