Learn how to turn Crash Detection on or off.
When your iPhone 14 series or later detects a severe car crash, it will display an alert and will automatically initiate an emergency phone call after 20 seconds unless you cancel. If you are unresponsive, your iPhone will play an audio message for emergency services, which informs them that you’ve been in a severe crash and gives them your latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates with an approximate search radius. For more information, visit Apple's support site: Use Crash Detection on iPhone.
1. To turn Crash Detection on or off, from the home screen, select the Settings app.
2. Scroll to and select Emergency SOS, then select the Call After Severe Crash switch.
Note: Crash Detection is on by default. When you turn the feature off, review the prompt then select Turn Off.
