Family Space

In this tutorial, you will learn how to:

Access Family Space

1. From the home screen, swipe up to access the Apps tray. Select the Moto folder, then select the Family Space app.

2. If this is your first time accessing Family Space, you will be prompted to select Get started. Review the Create spaces prompt, then select the Checkmark icon.

Create Space

1. From the Family Space screen, select Create Space.

2. From the Content screen, enter the desired name for your space. Select the desired app(s) to allow, then select Next. Personalize your space by selecting the desired drop-down icon to edit the desired settings, then select Next.

3. Select the Password checkbox if you would like to require a password in order to exit space. Ensure the Timer checkbox is selected if you would like to have a Timer displayed within the space. When you are finished, select Done.

Note: In order to have a password enabled for your space, you must also have a password enabled on your device. For more assistance setting up a security lock on your device, visit Secure My Device.

4. Select Got it.

5. The first time you use a Family Space, you will need to enable permissions. From the Your spaces screen, select Start. Select each permission and follow the prompts to enable access, then select Continue.

Use Space

START A SPACE: From the Your spaces screen, select Start. Select the desired screen time limit, then select Start.

Note: When Family Space is active, your device will go on Do Not Disturb mode and will not receive notifications or phone calls. The only available apps on your device will be the ones you selected when you set up your space.

START A SPACE THROUGH QUICK SETTINGS: Swipe down from the Notification bar twice, then swipe left three times to and select the Family Space icon.

EXIT A SPACE: When Family Space is active, select the Exit icon to disable Space. You can also exit Space from Quick settings. Swipe down from the Notification bar, then select Exit space or the Family Space icon.

Edit or Delete a Space

EDIT A SPACE: From the Your spaces screen, select the Menu icon next to the desired Space, then select Edit. Edit the space as desired.

DELETE A SPACE: From the Your Spaces screen, select the Menu icon next to the desired Space, then select Delete. Select Confirm.
