Advanced Photo & Video Features

Learn how to access and use Camera modes, effects, customization, and crop a photo.

To access the Camera app, from the home screen, select the Camera icon Camera app.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to:

• Access camera modes
• Customize photo and video settings
• Access and use Beauty mode
• Use Night mode
• Access and use Portrait mode
• Crop a photo
• Access camera filters
• Access and use HDR mode

Access camera modes

From the Camera app, swipe left or right to access camera modes such as Panorama, Night, Portrait, Pro and Time-lapse.

Note: Panorama allows you to create wider photos by stitching together multiple photos. Night allows you to capture stunning details even in low light conditions. Portrait allows you to enhance the subject matter and adds sharpness to photographs. Pro allows you to manually adjust settings such as ISO, shutter speed and exposure levels. Time-lapse allows you to capture videos and play them back at a fast playback speed.

Customize photo and video settings

From the Camera app, select the settings icon Menu icon then edit settings as desired.

Access and use Beauty mode

1. When the Camera is in Photo mode, select the Beauty mode icon then select the Beauty mode ON icon.

2. Beauty mode brightens facial features, minimizes imperfections, and smooths over fine lines or glares to instantly look your best. To use, select and drag the Beauty mode slider to configure the effect as desired, then select the Capture icon.

Use Night mode

From the Camera screen, swipe right to Night then select the Capture icon.

Access and use Portrait mode

1. From the Camera screen, swipe right to Portrait then select the Capture icon.

Crop a photo

1. From the Camera app, select the Gallery icon. Swipe left to the desired photo, then select the Edit icon.

Note: Alternately, from the home screen, select the Photos app Photos app then navigate to and select the desired photo.

2. Select Crop. Select and drag the crop corners to crop as desired, then select Save copy.

Access camera filters

From the Edit screen, swipe left to Filters. Select the desired filter, then select Save copy.

Access and use HDR mode

HDR mode brightens and expands the color range and clarity in your still photos. To turn on HDR mode, when the Camera is in Photo mode, select the HDR mode icon then select the HDR mode ON icon.
